Without an Internet connection will GPS function for maps ?
Is GPS of any use in my car without an Internet connection? Thanks.

Simple answer, no. Google Maps needs an active connection to render the maps as your moving, whereas a normal GPS has the maps loaded. Google Maps does allow map caching now so you can pre-select an area, download it to your device and it should work without a connection.

GPS will still "function" in that you can still pull up latitude and longitude coordinates, but you wont be able to use Google maps for turn by turn unless you pre-cache.
I did use GPS Test to get my GPS coordinates during a film shoot to make sure we returned to the same location (we were really far out in the desert with no cell service). It worked great.
