With HTC announcing the shift to SLCD, did they happen to mention if these new SLCD screens on the Nexus One and Desire will be PenTile based like the AMOLED…

screen found currently on the before mentioned phones?

I doubt it since that is a Samsung tech and they went elsewhere for the SLCD screens. If anything I think the SLCD is just higher res LCD not unlike the the iphone 4, actually probably pretty close to the iphone 4 minus some in the pixel count column.
