With BGR's recent report that the iPhone/iPad will be losing it's home button next generation, which is an exciting thing, and the press's…

reservation to buy a Verizon iPhone. Will you switch? I want to know if you think I should. I'm on a Motorola DROID, which I'm beginning to dislike, a lot! I have an upgrade available. I know for sure that my next device will be iOS, but should I wait until this summer? Should I wait until the iPad 2 announcement? What do you guys think?

"With BGR's recent report..."

You spell it wrongly: it is "rumor" :)

I don't think either that the home button will disappear, but you will most probably be able not to use it if you don't want to which is not that different, isn't it?

I don't think the iPad or iPhone will lose the home button. For one thing, a 4 - 5 finger swipe on the iPhone is kind of difficult if you have big hands. Also, it's not intuitive for new users to the device. I think it will beautifully complement how the home button is used, but not necessarily replace it.

Gruber makes some interesting points about it as well: "These gestures do mean that you don’t have to use the Home button. But there’s a serious discoverability problem with them. The physical Home button is impossible to miss. That it is the one and only button on the faces of these devices is a big part of why normal people are able to pick them, starting playing with them, and figure out how to get around with no help. How in the world would a normal person figure out or guess that they need to do a “five-finger pinch” to get back to the home screen?"

Also, I share Obamanizer's sentiment. Wait it out. It's only a few months, anyhow. I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run.

Wait until June see if they announce a new iPhone(they will i mean come on its apple) if its a dual core LTE sporting iPhone (doubtful) then first day buy that ho if not then you got some things to think about 1st of all dual core is all the rage and it will help with the gimped multitasking ios has at the moment (you have a good multitasking system now and will miss it) so thats a big factor as for LTE thats really a hit or miss issue if you live in a LTE coverage area (go look it up) it WILL make a difference usually between 2 to 4 Mbps of difference i hope i helped
