Wireless 'N' settings

So I just picked up this router on Newegg and set it up. I've noticed that I have really good speed (via speedtest.net) when I use the "Mixed 802.11g & 802.11b" settings. (Around 14-15Mbps, which is what I have from my ISP). However, once I try to throw N into the equation, (either Mixed 802.11g & 802.11n, 802.11n only, or Mixed 802.11n, 802.11g, & 802.11b) the speed suffers to as low as 2-4Mbps. I'm trying to use the current settings:

Mixed 802.11n & 802.11g
Channel: 11
Transmission Rate: Best
Channel Width: Auto 20/40MHz
Security: WPA2 Only
Cipher Type: AES
Group Key Interval Update: 3600

If I leave everything alone but switch to Mixed 802.11g & 802.11b or 802.11g only, it runs fantastic and I get the best router performance I've ever seen. (speedtest.net shows a constant 14-15Mbps anywhere in the continental US)

Overall it just feels like 'N' is not quite stable. Anything you guys think I can try to get better performance with N?

I get the same great speeds as you with 802.11g and have left it there. I'm waiting for them to ratify 802.11N before I use it because I don't like what I hear about these pre-N setups and throughput tests. Also, none of my PCs/Laptops have wireless N anyway... I hardwire everything that I want to have gigabit speed, and super fast wireless for my laptops would be cool, but I have switches everywhere so gigabit is just a plug away...

I noticed that I got it to work pretty much, but I needed WPA encryption and the minute that I did that, it was jumpy, unstable, and slow. In fact, I thought it was running well but once I disabled N again and went strictly to B/G it was running way smoother and faster.

I'd hate to think I spent $100 on an 'N' router for 'N' not to work right...but alas, it's still the best router I've ever owned and wireless G with MIMO and QoS make everything from my Xbox 360 to my Macbook Pro run fantastic. Unless someone has tips (or a firmware upgrade comes out) to make N reliable...I might just have to say screw it.

Right now I'm getting great wireless functionality with the following settings:

Mixed 802.11g & 802.11b
Channel: 11
Transmission Rate: Best
Security: Auto (WPA or WPA2)
Cipher Type: TKIP & AES
Group Key Interval Update: 3600

I had to leave WPA on because my sisters Xbox 360 is wireless and apparently the 360 wireless adapter doesn't support WPA2...but that doesn't seem to make a difference in B/G performance.
