Question about
Wireless connection not working suddenly
We had power failure yesterday for about 2 hours. Since then, I am not able to connect to the internet using wireless on my router from any of my laptops. I have a couple of Thinkpads with Vista Business and XP Professional installed on them. All my wired connections are working fine.
I have tried several things from resettting the modem and router to upgrading the firmware on the router. But I have not been able to get the wireless working again. The wireless network is available and my laptops connect to it and get an IP address. But I cannot connect to the internet from there.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had some wireless issues with this router too. Just like you, wired was fine and with wireless I could connect and obtain an IP address, but the internet was not available. I also did hard power-offs, resets, updates, but those didn't work. I found that if I went into the connection properties (XP Pro, Vista Home Pro, Win7 RC) and re-entered the WPA2 passphrase it would let me connect to the internet again. However, this only worked for about a month and then nothing could get the internet connection working. I finally gave up trying to fix it and ended up just replacing the router with a WRT54G I had lying around and have had no problems with the new router.

Can you connect pc directly to modem to test if it's not modem.
If that works then timewarner has an issue with netgear routers and a fix need to be applied at CMTS it might have been cleared if CMTS lost power.

Looks like I may have figured out the reason for this issue. I do not know for sure yet. I had recently connected an actiontec MI424WR MOCA router to my router to enable ethernet thru MOCa in my house. As soon as I disconnected this MOCA device from my router, my wireless started working again and I am able to connect to the internet. Not sure why or how this happens, but it looks like the only thing that is affecting this right now. Once I debug more, I will post here if I find any other solution

I had DHCP enabled on one of my MOCA devices as well and that was causing the conflict when some of my wireless devices connected through the wrong device. It is now taken care of.

You may encounter a slow connectivity issue or frequent disconnection errors as you try to access if your router is not in range. For the wireless Internet connectivity in your Windows 7 based computer, you must keep the router in range that is perfectly suited for your router to cover. If you are outside this range, you will have issues in the wireless connectivity.

It seems like your router needs to be reconfigured and try to give your computers a static ip, it sometimes happen because of ip conflict, try to change your wireless security from wep to wpa and more. For more read this article windowsphonesupport.com/blog/?p=45
