Windows Phone users, are these apps really that bad?

I was just browsing the Windows Phone App marketplace, and I found some pretty terrible reviews. The official Facebook and Twitter apps all have 2.5-3/5 stars. Windows Phone users here on gdgt, are they really that bad? Some users are reporting scroll issues, login issues, etc. etc.

Just wondering, because if simple apps like Facebook and Twitter don't even work then that's definitely a major issue.

The Facebook app for iOS gets 2/5 stars, and the Twitter app gets 2.5/5 stars, does that mean that there is a major issue for iPhone apps? Honestly, I just think that Facebook and Twitter suck at making apps.

Facebook and Twitter clients for Windows Phone 7 are developed by Microsoft or MS outsourced companies. So they are not developed by real Facebook or Twitter teams :) . Facebook client had some issues at initial launch as you mentioned like laggy scrolling etc. and it still misses many features like groups and chat. But these issues aren't valid for Twitter client, it was a smooth and complete client from the start. Anyway, with Mango update Facebook and Twitter are greatly integrated to the OS, we have more features than that clients can offer now. So after 7.5 update i don't think anyone out there still uses that Facebook or Twitter clients. I do not....

The Facebook app for Windows Phone just got updated and it's a LOT better features-wise, design-wise & performance-wise. Personally, this is the best looking Facebook app for any platform in my opinion.
Here it is, take a look. www.youtube.com/watch?v=okk04QXzVQY

The Twitter app for Windows Phone is good. I had no problems with it. But, there are many other great Twitter clients as well including Carbon, Rowi, Birdsong etc that have many more features like pinning stuff from the apps to the Start screen.

But then again, you don't 'need' to use all these apps most of the time because the built-in social integration of Windows Phone is damn good, works extremely well & is really efficient. You'll really love the idea of all of the social networks being integrated with your contacts. You really need to use a 'loaded' Windows Phone for quite a while to understand how the Metro UX, the social integration, the fluid transitions etc make using Windows Phone a really pleasant experience.

I totally agree with garen although I would like to see a full featured and performant Facebook client. Plus I agree that I cannot understand why the Twitter app got so much bad reviews. Its performant and has all features one needs. And although I make use of the good Twitter integration in the OS, I still use it from time to time to browse through the tweets of people I follow.
