Question about
windows on MacBook pro 13"
I'm looking at the new MacBook pro 13" I can get it with a back to school discount for $1099 not a bad price. I seen today on twit live before this "weekintech". Leo should the way he could have windows open on a sprite desk top. So he just had to slid or from mac to windows.
I've used windows now for 12 years have never used a mac but with this I can go wrong. I plan to write code, learn to make android apps, use Google, docs, mail music and plus. I think this is the same for most college students.
My question is how do I do this with the mac what programs will I need and where can I find info?

If you're looking to use Windows on a MacBook Pro, then you have a few options. You can virtualize it with with Parallels, VMWare Fusion or VirtualBox or you can use Boot Camp and have Windows on it natively on a separate partition.
Parallels:

VMWare Fusion:

VirtualBox
www.virtualbox.org/
Boot Camp
www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
There are pros and cons to virtualization as opposed to having Windows natively installed, speed for one, but it's all a matter of preference.

The best program to use is parallels desktop. it allows you to have mac and windows together. and be able to share desktop items/documents/etc transparently. you can run them seamlessly or have windows in a window
www.parallels.com/products/desktop/
The other ways of doing it will workbut it does not allow you to seamlessly share data between the PC and Mac enviroments.
eg,
- you can open a exe program from mac finder and it will launch in windows.
- you can open a rar archive in Mac and it will launch it in windows using WinRAR
- you can open a m4v file and it will launch itunes on a mac (so you don't have to have 2 itunes one in each enviroment)
- Windows programs are accessible from the Mac Doc and Mac programs are visible from inside windows.

as a Mac/PC/Linux user Myself Id have to add that parallels IS the best route again because of the virtualization and OS file sharing features which does give you a performance hit to windows but the benefits outweigh the performance hit especially if you are using windows 7 premium or ultimate... Home edition is not recommended also going this router allows you at a later time to do a virtualization of say Ubuntu or XP and if you have multiple monitors set up you can be running all your OSes simultaneously and jump from screen to screen ad OS to OS
