Will Verizon allow early upgrade if you purchased the iPhone 4??
Well...I switched to Verizon from AT&T when the iphone 4 became available in February. My account shows I am available for a upgrade on OCT 10th 2011. So the short answer is it appears that they are allowing it if you were a early adopter.

Probably not; usually you're in for the long haul of your contract and can then switch to a new phone when renewal time approaches.

The Verizon iPhone only went on sale on February 10th this year, only 8 months ago. Seems unlikely. With AT&T some people have had an iPhone for 15 months or so. They're more likely to see an upgrade offer from AT&T if they spend enough per month.
