Will S-ON HTC phones be upgraded to S-OFF OTA or via other means?

I want to root my HTC IS and I was wondering if it would be possible to do so.

I think the only recently released phones I read about possibly getting a S-Off OTA push is the Sensation and 3D. They have stated anything else that was released with S-On will be looked into, so it's hard to say which will and wont.

They have not stated if older phones will or not, and it still has to be approved through the carrier. As far as I know the only two carriers in the US that are fine with root-able phones are T-mobile and Sprint.
