Question about
Will rooting an Xperia X10 Mini Pro give me better performance?
By getting rid of the Sony bloatware, will I be able to get more out of this little guy? I've tried everything else and nothing seems to speed this thing up.

It may, but you're dabbling in dangerous territory. Getting rid of bloatware apps can sometimes help, but you can also corrupt the system by getting rid of files that other applications have dependencies upon. I would first try to find a list of apps that are safe to remove for your device. I know for the Samsung Galaxy S II, they have a forum about safe to remove applications over at www.xda-developers.com
At that point, if you find a list of apps that can be safely removed, your device probably will speed up a little bit, but it usually isn't dramatic. Make sure however, to back up your device first, in case something goes awry.
Good luck!

I've been using this little phone for a while now it various different configs and the best by far was when it was rooted and on Android 2.0. It was flying then. Since then I put the phone back to the SE default then upgraded to 2.1 and have now rooted it agian (at 2.1) and nothing comes close to the rooted handset on 2.0. Still a great phone though and it's by no means sluggish now, just not as quick. Hope this helps
