My wife's Galaxy Fascinate literally burnt itself out in three weeks. When it got too hot to touch she removed the battery. The service department explained it as "water damage".
Sigh! It never was near anything remotely wet.
Will continued pushing of the performance envelope result in more and more "water damage"?

No, I took it apart myself (I repair laptops) before it went in and there was no water damage.
