Why is Spotify not an option for me on Sonos?

I have a Spotify premium account that I wanted to connect to my Sonos system, but when I go into Music Services to try and add it it's just not an option. The list goes straight from SiriusXM to Stitcher. I've tried updating and even reinstalling the desktop software, but nothing works. I thought maybe something would be messed up in my profile (like maybe it listed as me as being in a country where Spotify isn't available), but everything was correct there.

I'm totally perplexed, any other Sonos and Spotify users encountering this?

Launch the Sonos Desktop Controller and 'Check for Updates' it will probably find none but it should magically unlock the Spotify option when you return to "setup services".

I went through this exact scenario with my S5 on Friday. Let me know if it works for ya!

you may need to go into your Sonos profile and update your country as well. Sonos did send an email out to users Thursday but it wasn't very instructive.

Could you use something like Airfoil by Rogue Amoeba to do the trick?

in my experience new services are added my updating the Sonos units themselves, not the desktop library manager. Did you try using the Sonos remove to update your individual zone units?

Danielraffel's answer is how it SHOULD work, but if you were a beta tester, there is a bug that prevents some Sonos systems from auto-updating to spotify or even updating manually. Call Sonos tech support, they'll fix it under 5 minutes.
