Why does the darn glass break so easily on this phone?
I drop my phone a lot when it slips out of my hand. I'm a busy single mom and usually doing more than one thing at a time rushing to get out of the house or get somewhere....I don't like having to pay $75 to get it repaired when I drop it. I can't afford that. I don't think it should break so easily just from being dropped. It's really hard to replace a broken screen if you don't know what you are doing, so I don't recommend trying that. Why is it so fragile?

I admit I'm not a big fan of Otterbox cases because they are too big and very expensive. You can buy silicone cases on Amazon for under $10 and screen protectors for under $5. The biggest problem you will have is the large selection. Just go to www.amazon.com and enter HTC EVO 4G Silicone Case into the search box. You might also look into a wrist strap, lol.

I'm not too sure about the specifications of the EVO's glass, but in general, glass is pretty weak. If you dropped a crystal glass or something from the height you drop your phone, it too would probably shatter. Granted, there are some glass manufacturers like Gorilla Glass that make super reinforced glass, but I don't think the EVO uses it.

I have the Otter Box case, and not does it only protect my phone it also makes it easier to hold. A week ago I dropped it in a parking lot, ended up running it over no issues at all.....I must add that I'm also using a Zagg screen protector
