Who else is disappointed by the >2tb drive support being pushed out?

From drobo.com @ support.drobo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/506/

* Drobo (4-bay) - later this year

We apologize for the delay! The release for 3TB drive support for the Drobo 4-bay units is almost complete however we are continuing to put the release through quality assurance testing. The good news is that the release will also support greater than 3TB drives when they become available (e.g. 4TB, 5TB). We want to ensure that we have tested the release thoroughly so that your data stays safe on your Drobo.

-------
I have been running up against a fall in my storage for a while now and have not wanted to buy 2 tb drives to replace 1.5tb drives as the storage gain is so small. I have been holding out for this update since the 3tb drives were announced and the first FAQ went up on Drobo's site about support for them. It is really disappointing that such a good product has been left to languish for so long. I just can't justify moving up to a Drobo S when you can buy two 4 bay drobos for about the same price. I don't need 2 drive redundancy as I buy Drobos in pairs any way as there is no way to backup that much data otherwise. I can't imagine dropping the money to buy 2 Drobo S units.

I just want a device that supports the 16 tb volume that I was promised when I bought the box.

In case you haven't seen the new 1.4.0 firmware is available for the 2nd gen drobo to support larger drives. The KB was updated on Sept 30th, 2011 with the information but it is not showing up when you click the check for updates in the drobo dashboard application just yet. But you can download it from the website and go through the manual update process to get it. I have installed it on my backup drobo to see how it goes before I update my live data one.

I am down right irritated, when i bought it it was clearly advertised that it would support up to 16tb of course it didn't say when it would support this but taking this long is just plain wrong.
