Question about
Which MBA 13" should I get?
I'm wondering whether or not worth it to spend the extra $300 and get the MBA 13" with 256 GB SSD?
I mean with the Thunderbolt port available, I can use that money to buy Lacie's external 1TB Thunderbolt drive. The port should be as fast as a SATA connection, right?

I bought a 128Gb + external portable USb 2.0 1Tb drive at first but exchanged for the 256Gb. I don't want to have to rely on an external drive all the time (it breaks the nice portability of this laptop) and since I'll use this laptop for a long time, I believe it worth it. I also needed to have a Windows bootcamp partition so this was taking a lot of space.
Go for the 256Gb if you can afford it.

It depends on how you plan to use that extra storage and how often you will access it. In other words, it sort of defeats the purpose of having a laptop if you always need to hookup the external storage to use it.
The thunderbolt hard drive should work as well as an internal hard disk (non SSD) but from my experience USB 2.0 works fine as well for external hard drives so that is another cheaper option.

As you can see from the answers above in the end you'll want the 256, so why not just start with that. Then spend $100 more for the i7 and you are fixed for a long time. Sure you can add humongus USB storage if needed, but don't forget the SD slot. A 32 or 64GB SD will add a good size chunk.
