Where's the Android 2.2 update for the Droid??
The last date I heard was "July" and we're in the home stretch - anyone have newer information about when we can expect a formal OTA update?
Latest official word says it's coming in August. Since both VZW and Motorola have confirmed the Droid 1 will be updated I doubt (read: hope they won't) go back on their word. That would be a horrible PR move considering how many people bought the Droid 1.
That said, since the Droid 2 is set to be the first handset to launch with 2.2, I think the update is being deliberately delayed to encourage its sales.

No idea, but this happened with the 2.1 update months ago. It took Motorola forever to get the update out. With Verizon EOLing the Droid, I am worried the 2.2 update has been forgotten about.
Though thankfully, I've been running Froyo for awhile on the Droid thanks to custom ROMs. It really breaths new life into the device.
