Follow up.

This will be available at Best Buy on the 23rd. I know at least a few stores recieved thier demo units already and Lenovo's being smart about it, knowing they're not a consumer brand, they're getting the hardware out there to show off.

First impressions... excellent. Everything is smooth, crisp window transistions, running a crap-ton of apps doesn't seem to slow it down. All of this only confirms my prior suspicions that it was the Xoom ROM that was crap... not so much the hardware.

Anyhoo, looks and feels great. According to a friend of mine in that dept. for a Best Buy store, they played with it before the store opened, and had it on the demo table all day being used and didn't plug it into power until 6 or 7. So, looks like the battery life is great. He said the keyboard folio is great. Really well integrated, keyboard feels good and is, in his opinion, better than the transformer.

This is all making me very happy.
