When will we get 2.0...?
Never, is what I am starting think. I want blue-tooth tethering via PDANet NOW! Or especially wifi tethering. WE NEED TO REVOLT.
The Eris has been rooted, and there are two leaked 2.1 ROMs available for download. If you really, really need 2.1, you can get it.
It's pretty clear that HTC and Verizon are testing ROMs; we'll get it as soon as they have a version that Verizon feels comfortable supporting. Be patient, or upgrade it yourself.

(You should know, however, that this is a one-way street for now. Once you go to 2.1, either way, there is no way to bring your phone back to stock 1.5. Proceed at your own risk.)

It should be noted that some people from the XDA board were reporting some minor issues after upgrading to 2.1
