They're usually updated in the earlier parts of the year,, but rumors are swilling about Apple dumping the MBP line completely and making a 15" MBA instead.
Personally I don't think that they would do that, but there are also rumors of a super high-def monitor MBP coming in the spring this year with a 2880x1800 screens. I would wait until at least the summer if you're looking to get one.

Looking at the track record of MBP in the past they tend to come out twice a year, once early in the year and then again later in the year. Since ones just came out this past October it's possible to see one in the next two to three months.
