I'd go for WebOS. I played with a HP Touchsmart computer before and I can't say that it was even a good experience. It's just not finger friendly.

Its a tough choice but I think i could get more use out of a WebOS/Android tablet then a Win 7 and only because a tablet can not be a replacement for a computer/laptop so begrudgingly a mobile OS is the only option now, since there are no tablet OS's. The closest one might still be in development(courier OS) but the tablet that was running it is dead.

I am highly skeptical of any slate/tablet running an operating system originally designed for mouse-and-keyboard input. Touch interfaces are very different things. Don't try to shoehorn Windows into a slate please.

I would go for WIndows 7, with a capacitive touch + capacitive stylus.

But just not on a $500 slate - I think what I want would probably add up to around $2K reasonably speaking.

I personally feel in order to make Windows 7 properly function on a tablet/slate you're going to need a pretty beefy set up of hardware. iPhone OS & Android are designed to run on lower spec products, so that's why they tend to translate better to lower cost items. The reason they might get expensive is due to hdd size or broadband cards.

I have a Latitude XT with Windows 7 and have had issues in regards to using it purely touch (no stylus). I've also had overall performance issues when running 3-4 applications.

FYI: This has been debated to death on here so if you want some other views check out the other discussions for the Slate.

I would love to see it running Win7, but of course only if it can do it well, which isn't hard to imagine since netbooks run Win7 just fine. if not Win7 I'd prefer to see Android on it.

Windows for sure, though at this point in time I don't see any use for a tablet in my life. I have a great laptop, a Kindle, and an awesome phone.

If I was to get a tablet I'd look at Windows and Android only...but I can't for the life of me think of a single use for a tablet that wouldn't be better served by my laptop/phone/Kindle.
