With the new one coming out, i just might get one now. All i have seen lately is settop boxs, digital media viewers and the like. The seagate one is interesting as well but this one is probably the most popular.

I can't really see any reason to get the new model though, the C-200, unless you want to add a blu-ray drive... Other than that, it costs $85 more and has a bright blue LCD screen which I think would just be annoying while you were watching stuff.... I don't think it features any other improvements of the A-110....

Also, the A-100 is not being offered on the site any more, but if you can find it second hand, it is pretty identical to the A-110 except for a few items...

If there's one thing you can say about the Popcornhour, its that it supports an INSANE amount of video/audio formats. I have found it seems to play just about anything.

I like how the popcornhour plays the raw files output from my Sony HD camcorder. Even PC's often have problems doing that until I go and track down the appropriate software or codecs. Yet my Popcorn does it out-of-the-box :)

This one time though (no, it wasn't at band camp ;) ), I ripped some TV eps from DVD using an app I'd never used before and the popcornhour had picture but no sound. I never worked out what the problem was. But I never used that software again (I've forgotten its name now).

So I guess I can't say I've had a 100% success rate with compatibility, but easily 95%.

I'm looking for feedback from some users have own this unit. Specifically how well it handles HD ripped formats such as 720p or 1080p x264 or mkv 720 or 1080, both locally from the unit or streamed over hardwire ethernet. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on this purchase if I can confirm all of the above play with no issue.

is there any streaming advantage of the new c200 over the a110?

From reading about the two players on their website and other sites, there doesn't seem to be any difference streaming wise.... The C-200 does have a slightly faster processor and gigabit ethernet, so streams might start a shade faster. But streaming was already very fast to begin with...
