Question about
What smartphone?
It is time for me to upgrade my smartphone. I have a Palm Pre Plus. I really like WebOs. I live in a rural area, but visit areas that have 4g. Are 4g phones more fast in areas that have only 1g or 3g service. I will stay with Verizon. Suggestions, please. I have a Kindle Fire, so am fam. with that form of Android.

Well Verizon has some great devices right now if your looking for 4G. I have to say that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus may be the best phone in the world and that is supposed to launch soon. It has the very latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich and a very nice 720p screen.
Other options are the HTC Rezound, which has the ability to use voice and data on 3G at the same time (SVDO), and the Motorola Droid 4 which has a keyboard that looks great on what seems to be a suprisingly thin device.
I have heard mixed reviews about the Motorola Droid RAZR; that the screen isn't very good and that it is not very comfortable in your hand.
