What's the most common COD?

Quite frankly, I'm surprised if you have one of these that's still running. The most likely part to fail on these and most other LaCie drives of the past few years has to be the power adapter. (Typically for most other drives it's the disk mechanism.) I bought mine in 2005 and the first power adapter lasted 4 years. The second power adapter lasted 2 years. The amount of usage didn't change. Note that when you go to the LaCie support web page for these drives, they put a link right there on the first page to order a new power adapter... I've had 2 power adapters on 2 other LaCie drives fail as well (both replaced under warranty) - one was a Triple model like this, and the other was a black Neil Poulton model.

I guess 6 years of usage from a hard disk is pretty good. I don't think it's worth replacing the power adapter for a 3rd time as the disk mechanism is probably going to fail soon anyway, right? Usually, the hard disk fails before anything else, but with LaCie it always seems to be the power adapter. How about yours?
