I have an Asus Eee PC 1000he (gdgt.com/asus/eee/pc/1000he/) running the newest version of Ubuntu (non-netbook edition) and it's pretty great.
I think for the most part, all netbooks will run UNR just fine given that netbooks generally have the same specs. Maybe keep an eye out for the netbooks that have the beefier graphics and long battery life and you'll be set.

I'm running it on a Dell Vostro A90 (same as a Mini 9). The only thing I don't like about this netbook is the keyboard layout and limited video out options. Some keys were moved around to save space and it throws me off. I also wish it had some kind of video out besides vga like svideo or ideally hdmi. Other than that, it is a great little machine for most of the stuff I do when I'm not sitting at my desktop machine.

The higher resolution screens work the best. try to get a screen that has 720p resolution. this will make surfing the web more enjoyable.
