I'm aware that the backside is a soft-touch meshed plastic (an improvement over the Galaxy SII backside) and the front is a curved plastic "glass" panel (like the Nexus S), but what material and quality are the other parts?
I'm referring here in particular to the parts that look like metal in the videos and images. Is this comparable to the cool-touch smokey-gray metal unibody on the Nexus One, or a plastic with a metal finish only in the top layer, or rather an oily plastic altogether like the rim of the Galaxy Tab 10.1"?
Please mention if you've actually held the device.

What material is the gray body around the sides and the lump at the bottom?

I haven't held the device, but from everything I have seen, it looks most like the rim of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I'll be purchasing the device when it comes out either way, but obviously most people would much prefer metal.
