Question about
What is your preferred .MTS file conversion software?
I struggled with this question for a while. My Panasonic DMC-ZS7 takes video in .mts format and sometimes they come out good enough for me to share with people. I really didn't want to use Panasonic software but couldn't find a stand-alone app that did what I wanted.
My solution is actually to NOT do the conversion myself. I upload my .mts files directly to SmugMug and they convert it for me. I understand this might not be ideal because a) I think you have to pay for SmugMug Pro to get this feature, and b) I haven't actually tried to download the videos after the fact for any other purpose. But for sharing videos, this is super simple, convenient, and the quality is great.
