Question about
JRockDetroit

What is the single most important feature that the iPhone 5 has over the 4s?

I currently have the 4s and am considering my options for an upgrade. I have a couple more months to decide. Also, at that point should I just stick it out until the next iteration (5S) ?

So hard to boil it down to one, but I'd have to go with LTE. Going from 3G to LTE is like going from a BigWheels to an Indy Car. :-)

All the rest of the features (screen size, speed, form factor) are also just as important, but you asked for one feature, and there it is.

i would wait for the next version of the iPhone. i don't think the jump from 4S to 5 is all that great.
Yes you get some under the hood improvements, a new thinner and lighter design and the extra screen real estate. Don't forget you also get the new lightning connector. Still not a lot of accessories that support that connector. Yes you can get an apple adapter for an extra charge.

As for what i feel is its best feature i would have to go with LTE also. its fast when you have it and it does make a difference.

The Screen no doubt about it.

The CPU/GPU changes don't really impact performance noticeably at all. Neither does the Camera, the new materials feel sturdier but not by leaps and bounds.

When you compare the screens though...
Having the extra half inch really(like x 2) helps when browsing and the like.

At least in my own opinion.

Network:
Do you have ATT or Verizon? With ATT you already have HSPA+(4G) and though LTE is a big upgrade, you already have a phone that's faster than 3G. If you're on Verizon, you're on 3G and though Verizon's LTE isn't as fast as ATT, it's a huge speed increase. If the upgrade is there I would save it for the next model for ATT and jump on it for Verizon.

Peripherals:
If you use a case on your 4S and don't want to buy a $30 adapter I would say stick with the 4S until the next model comes out. If you like your iPhone without a case, and don't have any docks I would upgrade now.

Overall: Thinness, LTE, bigger screen, faster charging with lightning. iOS 6 is a big jump in improvement in general as you should already know.

Unforunately for me, Sprint's LTE coverage is terrible. If I were with Verizon, that would be a whole different story. So far the screen would seem to be the only change. I don't think I have ever had qualms about the current processor or cameras. I can honestly say that I am not sure it is worth the upgrade for me right now. Might just wait until the next refresh in September.
