What is the best stylus for the iPad?
It's pretty run-of-the-mill. It has some issues, it's pretty light, and the tip can get angled over time. Now, there are a couple other options. There was an incredible successful Kickstarter project that was recently funded for the Cosmonaut capacitive stylus. It's wide-gripped, easy to hold, and is made very well. It's not yet in production, but if you can wait, you can signup and read more about it here: studioneat.com/cosmo/
Here is a Griffin Stylus. It has good reviews, pretty cheap, no real downsides: https://store.griffintechnology.com/stylus
Here's another called the AluPen, which takes its design cues from Apple products. It doesn't have a pen clip, but it is wider and heavier, which makes it feel nicer in hand: https://www.xtand.net/alupen.html
Good luck!

my only real complaint about all of these is the tips. i would prefer one with a more solid and defined tip most of the stylus i have seen have soft tips or rubber tips that large.
i would like tips like the ones you get in a Wacom Tablet.

Something else to bear in mind is the software you are using. I've found different sketching programs handle stylus input differently with some much better than others.

My next stylus was the Griffin, and it is still going strong. Recommended.
While not exactly pertaining to your question, my only complaint has more to do with the iPad than it does with this or any other stylus - the iPad is just not sensitive enough. I want to take notes; but no matter how hard I try, I have to make my characters more than twice the size of my notes on paper.

Except the Griffin is $7.14 > www.amazon.com/Griffin-Technology-Stylus-iPhone-to...
While the boxwave is $15 > www.amazon.com/BoxWave-Capacitive-iPad-Stylus-Blac...
Targus is $12.70 > www.amazon.com/Targus-Stylus-iPhone-Tablet-AMM01US...
As of today (May 29), the Griffin - at least on Amazon - is the better deal.
