What do you want to know about the iPad 2?

I'm about to go get a hands-on with it ahead of launch, what do you want to know? Remember, the device isn't launching for another week, ask right now!

Resolution is the same, but did they do anything with the screen? For example, did they mount it closer to the glass (as they did with the iPhone 4)?

how is the screen and is the cover "too easy" that it comes off with a little jiggle? How would it be in my laptop bag while traveling?

What is the resolution of the front and rear cameras? Is it more like the 4MP camera found on the iPhone 4 or more like the iPod Touch's 0.9MP camera?

Performance update: I got some initial SunSpider benchmarks, it's a pretty amazing improvement. Lower is better:

iPad 2: 2,151ms (this could even be potentially improved by me quitting all other apps and not accidentally rotating the screen a couple times)
iPad: I've seen as low as 8,500, and as high as over over 10,000ms*
iPhone 4 (iOS 4.2, latest): 10,116ms*
Nexus S: 6,410ms
Motorola Xoom: 2,164ms
Motorola Atrix: 4,635ms
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7-inch: 7,015ms
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10-inch: 2,256**

Many numbers pulled from: www.anandtech.com/show/4191/motorola-xoom-review-f...

* Running iOS 4.2, which doesn't have many of the js performance improvements found in iOS 4.3. So even though the iPad 2 has a faster dual core processor, it's not yet fully fair to say it has 4x the browser performance of today's iPad. I've seen reports that iOS 4.3 on the same hardware offers a 2 to 3x js performance improvement, however.

** Numbers found elsewhere -- I can't confirm their veracity.

How much lighter and thinner than the original does it feel? The original was just a bit too heavy over extended periods of time and I'm wondering if the iPad 2 now feels "right".

Wondering if the HDMI dongle will work with the original iPad or is it specific to the iPad V2

Update: Never mind I just found the info on the Apple site. Under Apple Digital AV adapter.

Does the cover just wake the device or also unlock it? I think I've seen most videos where you don't have to 'slide to unlock' but then I thought I saw one where you did.

1. Still a fingerprint magnet?
2. Does the white version help to hide smudges?
3. Does the white version's bezel "outshine" the screen and/or detract from the screen otherwise?
a) I'm thinking like the difference between MBP matte vs. gloss.
4. Still only a single speaker again?

If you have the iPad 1 already, should you get this new iPad 2 or should we wait to see what happens in September?

(In true Apple fashion) One more thing: Black or White?

I'm curious: is FaceTime allowed over 3G? Surely it must allow that, but since all the data plans will ostensibly (still) be capped… I do wonder how FaceTime is supposed to become a thing when people again have to worry about bytes or be chained to wifi.

Firstly is it the best thing? Or should i wait for iPad 3 or iPhone 5?

Does it outclass its competitors.I have had many gadgets-PSP,N97,DS,iPod etc.But Apple has been the best. Is it true or should i consider the alternatives as well? The basis of consideration is solely performance and not features.

Lastly, is it unlockable? Can we use it without a contract. I plan to buy it in Japan with contract and I want to be able to use it India when I return.
Thnx!

How big chance do you think it is that Apple will release another iPad this year (iPad 3)?, it does not seem to correlate with the history of how Apple is releasing their products.

Also I want a tablet really soon and since I live in Sweden iPad 2 is the only option without importing one (but since Verizon won't work here). Is the iPad 2 a great device?

I've lived with iOS on the iPhone but I currently use a Nexus One and have a small tendency to like Android a bit more. Although the speed, size and weight of the iPad 2 seems really great and is compelling on it's own. If I want a tablet in Q1 or Q2 is iPad 2 the way to go?

Tips for giving the best answers

Sometimes it's just little details that separates a great and not so great answer! Here are a few simple tips to keep in mind:

1
Be complete and thorough. Don't skimp on the details!
2
Try not to answer with a question. Because that's not really an answer, right?
3
A little research goes a long way. Back up your claims and assumptions!
4
Try to be patient, tech questions can be complicated.
