Despite enjoying Star Wars and my affinity for R2-D2, I have to say this special edition phone looks downright ugly. It's a cute gimmick, to be sure, but man!
It's almost as though Lucas thought he'd direct the design of the phone himself. Yuck.

It's personally not my style, but if you REALLY love Star Wars, it's probably a work of art. Some of the Star Wars apps, backgrounds, sounds, etc... are cool, but I can see them getting old, real fast. At $250 bucks, I don't think there's enough there to justify buying this over the normal Droid 2.
Also, why didn't they cover the entire think in the R2D2 skin? They should have made it cover the bezel in the front (matte finish) and change the keyboard color to white!

I would get one of these if I was Verizon. I'm a huge Star Wars nerd! (Spaceship buff) But alas I'm on T-Mobile which won't pay though the nose for licencing.

i got it for christmas from my wife... while i'm not the biggest star wars nerd on the planet, i do love the movies & this phone is really a one-of-a-kind. i just bought the clear case from verizon & it fits in both the media station & my car dock.

Didn't go nearly far enough - R2 on the back looks like he got caught in the trash compactor. However, there are some nice touches - lock screen Rebel/Imperial logos, all contacts without an associated photo are tagged with C3PO, and some of the animated wallpaper is fun.
