I like the Smart Cover for around the house. However, I ended up getting a Belkin Snapshield for the back. I was afraid of scratching the back somehow.
I actually started with the Targus Vuscape Case for the iPadĀ® (3rd generation). It is a quality case that I use when traveling. It is leather, comes with a holder for a stylus or pen, and exposes the Apple logo on the back. It was also the same price as the Smart Cover at Best Buy and includes the right magnets to unlock the device on opening the cover.
