What are your favorite features of Windows Phone 7?

I am presenting a report on the features of Windows Phone in a class this Wednesday. I have only briefly played with a WP7 device and I was very impressed. It seems everyone is looking forward to Mango in the fall but I'd love to hear what the gdgt community thinks is especially great about Windows Phones.

Thanks!

It is the most original, smooth and downright gorgeous phone operating system ever created. Every time I pick up my phone (Dell Venue Pro) I am delighted. The transitions and animations don't get in the way at all. The people hub is amazing and my friends are constantly amazed when I show them their contact page and it also features their facebook posts. It out-Appled Apple and made Microsoft an innovator and not a follower. Zune on it is fantastic. Windows Live sync is flawless. And all this before Mango and the stunning Nokia phones coming, which should elevate Windows Phone to its rightful place at the top of the pack.

Creating tiles for a group is a pretty kick ass feature. I have one for family, one for friends. Then get a quick overview of their social activities. If I wasn't connected to SN all day anyway, this would be even more useful :)

Love the ability to hit the search button, then scan a QR code or Microsoft Tag, much faster than finding and launching a dedicated app.

I haven't used a Windows Phone outside of a carrier store, but I really like the idea of hubs. Having all your apps that are related in a single hub is an interesting idea to me, a lot different from what other companies are doing.

So I say everything and its only better with mango. I despise Facebook but my phone has made me see it usefulness mango even more so I created a family tile after I installed and first was like ok cool it wasn't till my niece and sister went on vacation and my tile started updating with all there pictures as they were taken a d then I dived into the time and saw the new albums created from my families account that I was like wow this is awesome I had one huge stream of photos I could look at I saw them at the beach then I noticed a photo of my nephew at his ball game scoring and I was hooked I love Facebook because never have to look at the site again now. Another nice feature is the history o mean down to the Facebook chats it gives you every interaction with you contact. Now on to the unified messaging I was texting with a friend don't realize that half way through the conversation that they were off their phone and chatting with me through Facebook then when I got home and opened windows messenger our entire conversation was there ready for me to continue no other device has this just simply amazing and it afirms good thing come to those who wait and I'm glad i held out for a modern mobile Microsoft experience

In no particular order: People Hub, Live Tiles, OneNote app sync'd with SkyDrive, Zune Marketplace with Zune Pass. The hub concept in general and using elements such as people as pivots to perform tasks is very well thought out, elegantly implemented, and makes the iOS/Android app model feel dated.

As Microsoft marketing has said since the beginning, the objective of WP7 is to glance the phone quickly and go on with real life. The concept works beautifully. On Android I'm glued to the phone, pressing buttons, playing with apps, touching the screen here and there. On WP7, I unlock the phone look at the tiles and lock it again, pure simplicity. It's not that it does not have apps or has less powerful ones, information flows quickly so that you can get on with life.

What I like the most by far is the Zune integration but in the Mango release.

The upgrades in Messaging are pretty amazing. I can converse with someone on Facebook messaging, Messenger IM, and text interchangeably. I can even message a gorup of contacts that I create. Pretty amazing feature.

On my Samsung Focus I have to say I love just about everything. I did a side by side comparison with other Samsung phones on WP7 and I could not find a real need to upgrade other than a larger screen and faster CPU. This phone does everything I need. I love the simplicity and smoothness of the WP7 interface. And the feature I use the most is the 5 mega pixel camera. Put that feature on a plate with some biscuits and gravy...i'll eat it up!

I was in Subway the other day with Jared and the girl behind the register says "Oh is that the new WP7 phone? I just got one last night. Can I see it?" So i let her check it out and unbeknownst to me I became like a Microsoft sales rep. Even though she already bought a WP7 phone I could have sold her mine! LOL.

All in all I dont see myself going to another phone since this one fulfills its purpose. Access to Xbox Live, Windows Live, Contact management is awesome...I wish I had more friends to add...jk jk ; )

Cant wait for new WP7 feature to set in. Give it a file explorer and that puts the icing on the cake.
