One thing they need to fix is tapping on the status bar to scroll to the top of a page. By itself it's always been a great feature, and definitely saves time, but with the Notification Center drawer it can be rather annoying. If you check notifications anywhere there is a scrollable page it throws you back to the top, which is particularly annoying in long message threads. Of course it's still beta and this should be ironed out by the time gold master rolls around.
I've definitely been bitten by this a number of times in the past day. Interestingly, Instapaper has some nice features that compensate for this. If you scroll to the top of an article, a button appears on the screen that asks if you want to return to the original position.
It's either my phone battery being wonky, or it's iOS 5 - I've noticed some significant decreases in battery life with iOS 5. I *think* it's my phone, so I'm taking it to the Apple store Saturday to see what they can do, but I know that iCloud has certainly not helped it.
So, right now, it's battery life for me.
On another note though, I just thought about this, I would like them to fix a couple of iCloud syncing bugs. Like if I make an event on my calendar on my iPad, it goes to my iPhone, but if I delete it on my iPad, the iPhone just resyncs it unless I time the delete on them both at the same time.
It's iOS 5, I wouldn't even bother taking it in to the store. iOS betas always chew through battery early on before additional optimizations and bug fixes are added.
This is something I'm surprised isn't in there, it just makes sense to swipe and delete (or archive) just like in everywhere else it is relevant in iOS.
Most video apps seem to be not working. Most notably Netflix, Hulu and HBO Go. I have also had issues with video playback using Downcast and Air Video but Stream to Me appears to work. I believe this has to do with the new AirPlay API changes. I'm sure the issues will be resolved by the app developers in the coming weeks/months.
Maybe it's just me, but email notifications aren't showing up on the lock screen, I woke up to 9 emails and zero notifications. But they did show up when I swipe down.
Everytime I go into the new iPad music app to play a song it plays the song for like one second then the song goes away. Sometimes it comes back after one second of leaving the music app and it usually comes back for another second if you hit the play button. Is this happening to anyone else?
