Question about

What are the options for unlimited tethering / hotspot use among the US carriers?

So I'm on Sprint currently, and they have announced that they're killing unlimited data use through their hotspot add-on plan, which I use. It's a major bummer, because I specifically opted for that option as it would let me use data freely without worrying about the 5gb cap that other carriers and other plans have. (I don't go crazy with it, but I do go over 5gb often) And now I'm right back where I started, with a cap. They won't even be grandfathering in users like myself who signed a contract thinking I would be allowed that usage for the duration of my plan.
So the question is, what (if any) are the options for getting the same thing I've been getting, unlimited data through tethering or a hotspot. Any carrier, any device, any plan or combination of those you guys can think of... I'd be ok with throttled speed past a certain amount of usage, as long as the amount remains unlimited.

Currently no carriers, other than T-Mobile offer unlimited data, even then they throttle down your speeds when you hit a certain cap, plus their still stuck on 3G (no, it's not 4G).

If you want unlimited data, you're other option is to continue with Sprint, since it seems as if these capped hotspot usage doesn't apply to general phone usage and purchase an app like EasyTether Pro or PDAnet and tether to a computer. With something like connectify or built in Internet Sharing for OS X, you can turn that computer into a hotspot.

I've been disappointed anyway with the Sprint speed for hotspot. It's not worth it to pay the $30/mo addon. So maybe a separate device from Verizon? I think they have a both a 5GB and a 10GB plan and graduated fees for overage. Unlimited is overrated. Buy what you need based on specific usage patterns.
