What apps should I get when I get my third generation iPad?

  • pulse news reader - will greatly benefit from the new display
  • pocket cloud - now a pc/mac screen really fits on the display
  • spotify - if they made it work on the ipad at last..

iPhoto for sure. I'm upgrading from a 1st generation iPad so I'm looking forward to experimenting with the camera apps as well. Sky Gamblers looks beautiful as well, and worth the price.

Tweetbot, Kindle, Reeder, Monsters Ate My Condo and then if it were me...lots of kids book apps

There's lots of free stuff, too.

I'd recommend the Kindle app, and either Flipbook or Pulse News Reader. The basic Twitter app and the Facebook app are good for browsing, too. Draw Something, Tiny Tower, Triple Town, Hero Academy, and Jet Pack Joyride are fun free games.

Finally, I'd recommend AppShopper - it's free, and you can create an account to tag games that you're thinking of getting, and it'll notify you when they are updated or go on sale. I've saved money by waiting for games to go on sale, but I've also bought more apps because I saw that they were new or updated.
