Question about
Was the iPhone a surprise, like the iPad?
I understand that everyone knew that both of them were coming for a long time, but when Steve Jobs introduced the iPad everything he showed was something the public had not seen before. The iPad only appeared in two spyshots, that came out the DAY BEFORE the announcement, were blurry, and the design of the iPad was obscured. I was not as into tech as much back then (my obsessions heightened a lot mainly that year), so what I want to know is, when Steve Jobs came out at Macworld 2007, had the world seen any of it before?

You have it backwards - the iPhone was the revolution while the iPad was the evolution. The iPhone was leaps and bounds greater than anything anyone had ever seen. The iPad is basically just a larger iPod Touch.
