Question about
Warranty if not original buyer?
Hey, I got a g1 off ebay, and there are a few problems. The battery only charges to 63%, and two of the keys on the keyboard don't work every time I press them. I'm trying to sort it out with the buyer, but I was wondering if there is a warranty for a phone that I didn't buy. I've tried the T Mobile and HTC websites, but I can't find anything. Also, I don't want to bring it in to a store since I'm actually an AT&T customer. Any ideas?
HTC has no way of knowing who the original purchaser is. So, as long as it isn't water damaged, stolen, or outside the 1 year warranty, HTC should help you out if they deem it is a hardware fault. And T-Mobile obviously won't help you since you aren't a customer.
Also, have fun with HTC tech support, I hear they are a real delight to deal with...
