Want to print using black only, but it won't because other ink slot is empty?

This printer wouldn't print black/white when one of the color ink is empty, even though black ink is still full. Is there a way to fix this?

When you go to print there should be a button for printer preferences. Somewhere in that window should be an option to use grayscale. Setting the print job to grayscale will make the printer only print in black & white.
