Volume Icon Stuck on Screen

For some reason the Volume adjustment icon and bars have appeared on the bottom of the screen, and don't go away. I've tried restarting and even reseting my PRE - the problem stops for a while, then comes back again.
Any ideas?

Is the button stuck? I have an Iphone 2g (in addition to the pre) with a stuck volume button and it is hard to get the volume off the screen on that.

I agree with the above posts. It sounds like a hardware issue. Take it to the sprint store. It should be no problem for them to replace it.

I went back and tried cleaning out the contacts for the volume rocker again - and now the problem is solved!

hey mottel,
what did you use/how did you clean out the contacts? i'm having the same problem (was djing a very humid party and i guess some moisture got in there...)

i took the rocker off and i see the copper/black contacts and tiny buttons, but im not sure how to get inside and see if i can dry them off

I took off the backing and ran a piece of paper between the contacts. After that it's been working like a charm. Let me know if that helps.

What exactly do you mean by "removing the backing"
do you mean the batter door and battery or what??

and where exactly am i supposed to clean??

I removed the battery door and ran a piece of paper by the volume rocker contacts so as to 'unstick' them .

i did that then it kinda did it again then it calmed down...
its been good for like an hour lets see if it stays good

This phone is very moisture sensitive ... if you run with it, make sure that it is completely sealed off from perspiration. The problem you are describing was exactly what happened to me after one run.

This is an interesting issue. i had gotten the volume icon stuck on the screen at one time too but i thought it was cause by opening a new card at the same time that i was adjusting the volume. Glad to hear you've gotten it fixed though, gotta love the palm pre.

hey i had the same problem because i left it on the patio outside and it started raining, it really didnt get wet but the volum control was broken. i just took a piece of paper and slid it through the cracks where the volume button was and VIOLA! it worked! thanks for the info!
