Anyone having issues with their SV370XVT making their DVDs look like BBC documentaries? The manual says it is supposed to recognize the 24fps of films, but my TV definitely is not doing that. Special effects suddenly look like 1960's Dr. Who ripoffs.

Sounds like you are describing the soap opera effect. Try turning Film Mode to Auto (its default setting). If this doesn't work turn off Smooth Motion.
