Video playback on pc

Hey guys i loaded up a video(hd60) from vacation on my pc and downloaded the latest quicktime. I tried playing it back and it was pretty choppy and stuttered. Has anyone had this problem?

But after the first run they play better? Im starting to think my pc is just not able to run hd video that well. Do you mostly just archive your video? Or do you share them/burn dvds?

It sounds like your PC's hardware isn't suited for HD playback. I haven't had any trouble with playback of any recording. Have you tried playing it from the XBox directly? Or have you had any success with HD playback on your PC at all?

Quicktime for Windows is awful. Movies are choppy.
Windows 7 has a built-in mov-codec, and it performs great - very smooth and hardware accelerated playback. So go get Win7 :)

Hey, Rollroyc3 did u try watching ur vids on ur xbox 360?? U gav me the idea to try b/c i had the same choppy prob u had on playback on my netbook. i copied the vids to a usb memory stick and it plays like a charm!! now mind you i did hav to connect my 360 to xbox live for some updates and i think one of them was a update to play the MOV files.. but anyways it works great... i guess ill hav to make do with the choppiness on my netbook for editing and playback on my 360.... or until i can config my netbook for this vid format better
