Question about
Verizon ROM update
Has anyone heard when a new ROM with Windows Mobile 6.5 and an unlocked GPS will be available for the Samsung Omnia i910 from Verizon?
From what I've heard, the Omnia is not going to get the ROM update to 6.5. Some of the "newer" smart phones that are coming out in the second half of the year should though.

ahhh yeah, the mythical update rom from vzw.
rumor had it it would be released 1st half of this year.
if you want 6.5 and unlocked gps, better check modaco, and ppc geeks. most of us have had 6.5 and unlocked gps for a few months now.

Yeah over at modaco they have a board for custom roms for omnia including 6.5. There is also somewhat easy instrctions pinned as to how to do it. I have been using wozzers 6.5 rom and it is the best most stable rom by far. The only real reason to flash is to enable gps but unless I'm driving I don't get a lock in a reasonable amount of time. My thinking is that Verizon has to wait to roll out the update until microsoft officially releases 6.5, although that is a rough guess. I'm not really waiting around because I don't see the update being much better of an improvement over wozzers 6.5 rom.
