Go to software update and download 'em!

Adobe just pushed an update, so the S90's RAW files will work in Lightroom or Photoshop. However, if you're workflow is already centered around the Apple Aperture software, this is an inconvenient solution. Nothing to do but wait it out.

You can use Canon's Digital Photo Professional that came with you camera (v3.7 or higher) to correct barrel distortion for your S90 RAW photos until Aperture supports it.

The good thing about it is that since the CR2 files are now directly imported into Aperture, you can use any Aperture plug-in to edit them.
And the solution is simple enough to not become a hassle. Just one quick pre-processing step before importing the images into Aperture
I hope you find it useful.

What does your workflow look like? I need to do something to address barrel distortion before importing into Aperture 3 (since I don't like the $80 plugin to do it natively in Aperture). Anyway to convert to DNG and apply barrel distortion in Camera Raw, then import into Aperture maintaining the correction?
I really want to have both corrected barrel distortion while maintaining the raw file for future edits in Aperture.
Not that I am asking much ;)

Since the original posting of this thread Adobe Camera RAW has been updated to support for the S90, including support in Aperture 3. You can correct for distortion via plugin in Aperture 3; the popular ones seem to be PTLens (I've read a lot of praises for this one), LensFixCl, and DxO Optics. You can also process them ahead of time in Digital Photo Pro before importing them into Aperture but that seems like a hassle to me to bounce between two programs.
