Question about
Upgrading to a bigger HDD
I got the first generation with the 80GB disk and am really feeling cramped. Can Apple put in a bigger one for me and how much would it be. Or if not, can I do it and what should I get?
I do not believe that is possible. The 1st gen Air uses a PATA/ZIF connection. The drives were made by Samsung. As far as I am aware, they made no larger capacity models....

You can, however, upgrade to SSD. Go to Ebay and search for PATA ZIF. Trade-off, of course, is $$$.

You could always just get another mac and enable HDD sharing. That is probably cheaper. An old g4/g5 could be used as a file server.
