Question about
Upgrading the HDD
Hello fellow gdgt'ers (can I say that yet?)
The HDD in my current MBP 17" has been running out of space at least once a week. I already transfer a good amount of my stuff to my network, as well as my portable, but there's some things which I prefer to keep on there at all times. I am not looking to take the next step and upgrade the internal HDD itself. The laptop is also out of it's warranty period, and unfortunately I forgot to purchase AppleCare (d'oh).
What I wanted to know from you is: are there any recommendations on which HDD I should get? It's currently a 250GB. At this point, price is no option, but I am a little concerned about speed (seek times, etc).
Thanks for your help!

You said that you're NOT looking to upgrade the HDD but you want to get a new HDD? I don't get it.
Anyway, I would recommend getting the 500GB 7200RPM Seagate drive for an internal one: www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-...
If you're looking at externals, I like the little LaCie drives.

I have no idea why I put "not" in that sentence. I am actually looking to upgrade the HDD.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Two months later I've finally decided on a WD Scorpio Blue 640GB drive.
