Question about
Unity breaking on Ubuntu installed on a Cr-48
Yesterday I installed 11.04 on my cr48. Playing around with the compiz settings I managed to break unity. I can't get a gui, and my user account has lost root privileges. Is there anyway to fix this? I just want to dual boot chrome OS and ubuntu. If I have to start from scratch, that's fine as long as I can install ubuntu again.
Had the same issue. I'm outta ideas, and have kinda set it to the side for now. Hopefully someone on here will post how to get it running.

I finally figured it out.
I switched off developer mode and let chrome os restore. Then I switched developer mode back on. It also restored. After a couple restarts I was able to get into the terminal and perform the install again.

Unity doesn't really like Compiz. I love compiz, and hated Unity; so I just log on using Classical GUI, and voila!
