Unable To Load Page - problem

I'm with Bell Mobility, got the Pre a week or so ago... Ran into this problem when trying to open a below mentioned website through the browser:

"Unable To Load Page
www.vkontakte.ru/
Unable to resolve host. [2006]"

So far this was the only website my Pre wasn't able to open. The weird thing is... If I switch to Wi-Fi - it opens just fine. The browser has all the default settings...

Anyone have any ideas?

The error message indicates that the DNS information provided by your wireless carrier does not include information for that url.

When you connect through wireless, you are using DNS information furnished through the wireless router and ISP it's plugged into.

Ah... So what is the possible solution? Contact Bell?

It might be a new domain, or recently changed? Sometimes domain propagation takes a while. (<24 hours)

Where are you in Canada?

I'm just north of Toronto, in Uxbridge which is on the same cell network. I can load the page just fine on my pre where I am so I don't know.

I'll save you a step, I work in a bell world and have no idea what the problem is so I doubt that anyone in any bell world will be able to help you, but try and contact bell support they might know more, i doubt that they can fix it, but still try.

I'm in Toronto.. North York.
I'll try calling the support about the issue... But like you said - I won't hold my breath.
Anyone might know of any "hack" around it?

Also just so you know bell support really likes their hold buttons so be prepared for long waits, I've been on hold for around 30 min sometimes, so use a speaker phone or a headset when calling.

They sure do like them hold buttons... And they like them frequently!
So I just got off the phone with Bell Support... Surprise surprise - they haven't been able to solve the problem.
They recommended I go to a Bell store and try to hook up my account to another Palm Pre unit and see if the problem still stands. Going to try that tomorrow...

At least they can't put me on hold and make me listen to that feeble music in the actual store...

Yeah well we call bell support too, and when they put us on hold we put them on speaker phone, so you might have to listen to the music.

Also I tried the page again on my pre and it didn't work again, but then it started again, it's very strange.

I just spent around an hour on the phone with Bell support WHILE in a Bell store.
After a number of long holds they end up telling me that their network admins said that not all websites are supported on Palm and Windows Mobile phones. Blackberries can open it just fine but Palm and WM can't.

So basically... no luck. Maybe Palm updates can solve the problem

Sorry to hear that hopefully Palm will release an update soon to fix this and a few other little issues I've noticed in the webOS.
