Question about
Transferring files from Nexus to PC
I'm trying to copy the contents of my Galaxy Nexus' media partition to my laptop's HDD, but Windows 7 seems to get stuck on "Calculating the time required to copy the files". I have around 10GB of data in total.
I've tried copying folder by folder but at one point the device disconnects and the transfer fails. Any ideas?

I have found that using your phone disrupts the transfer. If you don't unlock it at all things should go better. It's a real pain in the neck.

@Dpmt Nah, it just refuses to work. Under PTP it would copy the folder, but not the contents of the folder. Now, under MTP, it takes a long time to "calculate" then starts the transfer at a painfully slow rate. Ultimately? Some random error pops up. I can't have a phone that I can't take a back up of!

which version are you on. 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 seems to have an issue with MTP. in 4.0.3 and up it seems to have been solved.
Suggestion don't try copying folder but copy the stuff what is in it. Many including myself saw the issue disappear when using this method.
