The Wii U UI, will it be the same...

Wonder if they're updating it or keeping it the same with the icons/channels?

I highly doubt it will be the same. They'll probably do a UI overhaul that will also extend to the regular Wii. It would very much surprise me if they put that UI on a supposedly next-gen device.

You know... it strikes me as funny that the Channels thing was actually a bit like an early App system, just ahead of its time and not executed perfectly. They could probably jump on the App bandwagon (in terms of visuals, I mean) and get away with it without breaking any backwards compatibility.

Dunno if they WILL do that, but it's interesting nonetheless.

They should take it as an opportunity to overhaul it, since the experience seems so outdated compared to what Sony and MS are doing.

Honestly I hope nintendo makes a better UI for the Wii U. if they want to make a good UI they will take what xbox and playstation have done and learn from them. Possibly putting a xbox guide like feature on the Wii U's touchscreen to manage friends and messages while having the normal menu on the normal screen. If they dont do that, they should make at least an IOS or Wii type of menu on the touch screen.
