Temporary freeze ups with no apparent readings

I am encountering times when the Ipod stops accepting input from the screen and appears to be locked for several seconds before resuming normal operations. On occasion there is indication that there is data being transmitted through the wifi, but most of the time this is not the case.

This did not happen when I first started using the Touch, but it is becoming more and more frequent. Is anyone else experiencing this, and is ther anything that can be done to stop it.

That has happened to me occasionally. You might want to try turning it on and off or clearing the memory via an app (I use memory sweep; free and works like a charm). The last resort would be doing a full restore. This isn't as awful as it sounds. Just make sure you have a backup of everything. Restoring will usually speed the device up as well. The downside is that you will probably lose your progress and settings on apps. If you aren't a big gamer, this is probably the best thing for you to do. If you are, try doing the other things; if those don't work just the bullet and do a restore. Be sure to have at least a free hour though, depending on the size of your library the backup+wipe+restore can take a while.
